Physical and chemical properties
For colorless liquid, pungent odor, and water miscible, can be miscible in ethanol, ether. Chemically active, easy polymerization in the air, hydrogenation can be reduced to propionic acid, and hydrogen chloride addition to produce 2-chloropropionic acid.
Use
1. Mainly used for preparing acrylic resin. Used to make plastic, rubber, cellulose and other synthetic materials.
2. Used for pesticide manufacturing. It can be used as a complexing agent and surfactant in pesticides to make pesticides more insecticidal. At the same time can be used as a impurity removal agent, the insoluble pesticide in water dissolved in water, make its activity, so as to play the role of insecticide.
3. Used for coating production. Acrylic acid can be used as one of the important components of coating, in the manufacture of coating, can improve the adhesion of coating, make the coating more firm, improve the corrosion resistance of the coating, prolong the service life of the coating.
4. It is used to purify waste water. Acrylic acid has a strong solidification performance, can make the organic matter and suspended matter in the wastewater condensation, precipitation, so as to purify the wastewater.
Methods of production
1. Acrylonitrile hydrolysis method: acrylonitrile is hydrolyzed by sulfuric acid to form acrylamide sulfate, and then hydrolyzed to form acrylic acid, and ammonium bisulfate is produced byproduct.
2. Cyanoethanol method: This method uses chloroethanol and sodium cyanide as raw materials to react to produce cyanoethanol, which is hydrolyzed to acrylic acid at 175℃ in the presence of sulfuric acid: if the hydrolysis reaction is carried out in methanol, then methyl acrylate is generated.
3. High pressure Repe method: acetylene dissolved in tetrahydrofuran, in the presence of nickel bromide and copper bromide catalyst, reaction with carbon monoxide and water, to produce acrylic acid.
4. Propylene oxidation method: propylene is mixed with air and water vapor according to a certain molar ratio, in the presence of molybdenum-bismuth composite catalyst, oxidized to produce acrolein, and then mixed with air and water vapor according to a certain molar ratio, in the presence of molybdenum-vanadium-tungsten composite catalyst, oxidized to produce acrylic acid.
